A Parisian accent in the quarter-finals

No less than eight Paris Saint-Germain players are taking part in the World Cup quarter-finals on Friday.

Kylian Mbappé, Presnel Kimpembe and Alphonse Areola take on Edinson Cavani when France take on Uruguay, while Neymar Jr, Marquinhos and Thiago Silva lock horns with Thomas Meunier when Brazil play Belgium… Paris Saint-Germain taking centre stage in Russia with eight players into the quarter-finals!

Both quarter-final matches have been the subject of attention at the Ooredoo Training Centre. Former France international Lassana Diarra was impressed by Les Bleus’ 4-3 victory over Argentina in the round of 16: “I am really pleased with how they are playing in Russia. We always support France, even more so with three of our teammates in the squad. It’s great for France and we hope they go the whole way.”

For his part, Timothy Weah is delighted with his teammates’ displays in the World Cup: “Neymar is having a great tournament, like all the Paris players, including Thomas Meunier who he plays on Friday. I can’t wait to watch France versus Uruguay. It will be a huge match between Kylian Mbappé and Edinson Cavani, if he plays. I speak with both players a lot. The French were really impressive against Argentina. I expect goals and France to win.”
