Bernard Mendy joins Paris Women's coaching staff

Former Paris Saint-Germain defender and France international (3 caps), Bernard Mendy has been named technical assistant coach with the Paris Saint-Germain Women's team by sporting director Bruno Cheyrou.

Mendy, 36, will work under the direction of head coach Patrice Lair.

After emerging from the SM Caen youth academy, Bernard Mendy joined the capital club in 2000, at 19 years of age. He remained in the French capital for 8 seasons, playing 247 matches (11 goals), in all competitions and winning 2 Coupes de France (2004, 2006), 1 Coupe de la Ligue (2008) and 1 Intertoto Cup (2001). In 2004, he received the Trophée UNFP for Ligue 1 Right-back of the Year.
